Sholach Lochside Wood-fired Sauna

Tucked away beside Marlee Loch on our family farm near Blairgowrie, Sholach Lochside Wood-Fired Sauna is a place to slow down, warm up and enjoy some time outdoors.
Surrounded by Christmas tree fields, woodland and open Perthshire countryside, our sauna sessions are small, relaxed and deliberately simple.
Nothing fancy. Just a hot wood-fired sauna, fresh air, a beautiful lochside setting and time to switch off for a while.
Sauna Sessions
We host lochside sauna weekends throughout the year, usually around once a month.
Sessions last 1 hour 15 minutes and the sauna holds up to 8 people.
You can book:
Individual places
Come along on your own, with a pal or as a smaller group and share the session with others.
Private sauna session
Book the whole sauna for your group of up to 8 people.
Sunrise and sunset sessions are offered when the time of year allows — and they’re pretty special.
By the Loch
We want the experience to feel comfortable while still keeping that simple, outdoorsy Sholach feel.
Beside the sauna you'll find:
A large covered gazebo for changing and shelter
Our Wee Loo by the Loch compost toilet
A fire pit area
Space to sit, get warm and enjoy the surroundings
Access is via a short walk down a farm track, so sensible footwear is a must — especially during a Scottish winter!
What to Bring
Please bring:
Swimwear or comfortable sauna clothing
A towel to sit on inside the sauna
Another towel for afterwards
Warm clothes and plenty of layers
A drink or water bottle
Sensible outdoor footwear
Sauna & Christmas Trees 
During Christmas tree season, you can make a day of it.
Enjoy your sauna session, wander back through the Christmas tree fields and choose your tree — or choose your tree first and finish your visit with some proper winter warmth.
No booking is needed for Christmas tree choosing.
